we respect your privacy and confidentiality
This statement explains how Transparency International Australia, as host of the Accountable Mining Programme (we, our, us), takes steps:
- to respect your privacy when using the Responsible Mining Business Integrity Tool (Tool)
- to keep any data about the company you share with us confidential and secure, and
- not to misuse any company or personal data.
This statement also details what information we collect, how we use it, and how you may access the data you share with us, including amending or deleting your contact details and data.
Note that in the case of any inconsistency between this statement and the Terms of Use, the Terms of Use prevails and is binding.
What data we collect
We collect the personal data you submit (name and email address) when you make a request to register an account with us.
We also collect information about how you are using the Tool. This helps us monitor and make improvements to the Tool.
We collect and can access all data about the company that you submit via the forms in the Tool. We can also access the results from each evaluation you complete.
How we store your data
The tool is hosted on a secure website that is protected with an SSL certificate.
All personal and company data you provide is stored in a secure, password-protected location on the website that is accessible only to a restricted number of administrators in the Accountable Mining Programme.
We will take reasonable steps to maintain the security of your data, however, we cannot guarantee security. Accordingly, all data is provided at your own risk.
How we use your personal data
By creating an account, you give us permission to contact you to offer support and follow up about the evaluation and your use of the Tool.
We will not give your contact details to anyone else or use them for any other purpose.

How we use company data
We will use information you provide about the company and your evaluation results as part of our analyses of trends in company performance which will be used to inform our research, reports, workshops and other programme activities on business integrity.
We will not disclose company data provided by you or your evaluation results with any third party or third-party platform in any form that could reasonably identify the company you represent or work for.
We will only use de-identified examples and written information provided by you after first obtaining your written permission.
What rights you have over your data
We acquire no legal rights or title to the data you provide, subject to the Terms of Use.
If you have an account on this site, or have entered any data into the Tool, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data and company data you have provided us.
You can request that we delete your account and any data you have submitted at any time and we will fulfil that request.
You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you and we will fulfil that request. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
